“The Incredibles” themed rooms at Disney’s Contemporary Resort may be a reality reports Blogmickey

Today, Mike from Blogmickey.com reported that “The Incredibles” may indeed be coming to Disney’s Contemporary Resort. This week, the Disney blogger was photographing the outside of the hotel and upon closer inspection of photos of construction workers on one of the main tower’s balconies, they noticed something different with the curtains.

“With just weeks before the April 2021 refurbishment is scheduled to begin at Disney’s Contemporary Resort, we spotted some construction workers out on a balcony at the Contemporary Resort main tower,” stated the blog. “A closer look revealed an Incredibles-themed curtain in what appears to be a completely refurbished room behind them.”

Mike stated that the white opaque curtains have the entire family, subtile on them, along with the logo. He states that he counted six to eight rooms with these curtains installed, but they are not the same rooms where in 2019 Disney had tested Incredibles decor in the hallway.

Disney has yet to confirm if this is the new theming for the guest rooms or another test. The work is expected to be completed by mid-September, just in time for the kick-off of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary on October 1.

Back in the spring of 2019, Tom Corless of WDW News Today, posted a rumor that The Wave of American Flavors, the ground level restaurant at Disney’s Contemporary Resort would be rethemed and possibly renamed into The Incredibles Steakhouse. Most Disney fans did not believe it or did not want to believe it.

Three months later “The Incredibles” then made an appearance in one of the resort’s hallways. On a small portion of the Contemporary’s hallway on the eighth floor “The Incredibles” artwork, new guest doors, new carpet and wall coverings were installed. The two rooms were located at the end of the hallway overlooking Chef Mickey’s restaurant.

This past February, Disney announced rooms in the Main Tower would undergo a refurbishment in advance of Walt Disney World’s 50th anniversary.

“Starting in April 2021, Disney’s Contemporary Resort, which opened up with the resort in 1971, will begin a refurbishment to reimagine Guest rooms,” read a statement by Disney. “While some Main Tower rooms will be unavailable during the refurbishment, most resort areas and amenities will still be available for Guests to enjoy.”

At the time Disney did not state what the reimagined guest rooms would look like or how many of them would be made over. However, it now did not seem as big of a stretch as Disney recently announced a major renovation of Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort incorporating elements from its hit 2016 animated feature, “Moana,” throughout the resort. The resort, which opened in 1971 with the Contemporary, is seeing extensive work done to the monorail station, Grand Ceremonial House, and guest rooms.
