Boma at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge to return, other buffets may return in the near future

Ahead of Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge reopening to guests on 26 August 2021, Disney announced Boma at Jambo House will reopen to guests starting Friday, 20 August 2021. The all-you-care-to-eat restaurant will begin accepting reservations this Friday.

Disney stated that Boma will be the first buffet-style restaurant to return at the Walt Disney World Resort. Currently, other restaurants that previously were buffets are now currently operating as family-style dining outlets.

As Disney gages how Boma does, it is hoped that other buffet-style restaurants that are currently family-style such as Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Hotel and the Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom will return to their original style of service soon.

Two months ago, Disney announced ‘Ohana’s at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort was returning this July after being closed for more than 18 months. In the announcement, Disney released some new food offerings at this fan-favorite restaurant as well as the elimination of others including the stir-fried noodles and skewered shrimp.

Fans were so upset about the elimination of the noodles they took to social media to voice their displeasure. Two days after Walt Disney World announced the removal of the ‘Ohana Noodles from the all-you-care-to-eat dinner service, the noodles were put back on the menu.

Now, the Disney blog, WDWNT.com states that the original menu will return this week, including the skewered shrimp. “The shrimp casserole will disappear, and the skewers will return,” stated the blog. “It’s possible that Disney listened to guests’ responses over the menu changes …”
