Keister Coaster Slide at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort unveiled

This past October it was reported that the Keister Coaster waterslide which featured a fun or scary clown slide (depending on your attitude towards clowns) at Disney’s BoardWalk Inn Resort would be closed for refurbishment. This past week Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) gave fans a sneak peek of what the new design would look like. However, WDI was quickly informed on social media that they spelled “keister” incorrectly and the post was removed from their page. (It should be noted that both spellings ARE correct however this spelling was different from how Disney has referred to the slide in the past.)

Walt Disney Imagineer Zack Riddley followed up with a post acknowledging the error and said they “will make changes before opening for guests at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort!” Earlier today WDI reposted a corrected image of the coaster only to be overshadowed by the entire update being revealed at the pool.

Disney bloggers have been posting images of the new Keister Coaster Mickey and friends themed graphic and it has been receiving mixed reactions. Twitter user @tom_bricker said, “Regardless of whether you’re “scared” of clowns, there’s no excuse for sticker-covered scrims. It looks cheap and lazy.” Some thought it was a result of the recent budget cuts due to the novel coronavirus pandemic, but Tom Corless from WDWNT.com said, “This was approved before COVID. This is PIXAR Pier-esque.” @RichyDisney said, “This is just so horribly uninspired”

Construction workers are still working on the slide and it is expected to open shortly. Disney stated that work surrounding the Luna Pool area will continue through at least the end of this year.
