“Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!” rehearsals start at Disney’s Animal Kingdom

As Walt Disney World continues to bring back live entertainment, a fan favorite – albeit in a different version – has begun rehearsals over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park.

Finding Nemo: The Big Blue … and Beyond,” which replaces the long-running “Finding Nemo and Friends,” began rehearsals this past Monday. Husband and wife Jared Thomas Bradshaw and Lindsay Bradshaw posted on their Instagram account that they have been cast in the show and are currently in rehearsals.

The couple said they would be in rehearsals for the next month or two. Although Disney has not said when the show will officially debut, it appears from the couple’s post that it could be some time at the end of May or sometime in June.

“Newsflash! We got jobs at Walt Disney World! One of the last things I got to tell my mom in the nursing home- was that I got a job to go back to Disney this year. I know she and dad would be so proud. Lindsay and I start rehearsals on Monday for ‘Finding Nemo: the big blue….and beyond!’ At Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom,” read their post. “We will rehearse the next month or 2 and do the show all year. Together! At Disney. with insurance. And Dole Whips. I couldn’t be more grateful [sic] for a new chapter and challenge and something positive! With my wife. Georgia is thrilled.”

Last September, Disney announced the “Finding Nemo” show will return in 2022, however the original 2007 show will not be back. A reimagined show “based on the same beloved characters” would debut instead.

“Although our Disney Live Entertainment team is still in the early stages of development for the show, the musical retelling of this underwater tale of family, friendship and kindness will feature new story material, as well as fan-favorite songs such as “In the Big Blue World” and “Go with the Flow,” stated the Disney Parks Blog.
