A new version of “Finding Nemo” show coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Last September, the Disney Parks Blog announced “Finding Nemo: The Musical” will return to Disney’s Animal Kingdom park in 2022. Although the original 2007 show will not be back, a reimagined show “based on the same beloved characters” will debut next year.

Disney has yet to give additional details on the new show, but that may change tomorrow at the Destination D23 event at Walt Disney World.

The news may come in Destination D23’s first presentation, Connections: A Look at the Future of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products. The presentation, which begins at 9:00 a.m. and will be live-streamed on D23.com,  states, ” … In this session, DPEP Chairman Josh D’Amaro will share … a first look at some of the newest projects around the world …”

Blogger Mike from Blog Mickey reports that the new show is expected to be called, “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue…and Beyond!” Disney has not announced this as the official title, but it may be revealed tomorrow during D’Amaro’s presentation. We reached out to Disney for comment.

The new show will be performed in its original home, Theatre in the Wild, and is expected to have a new storyline, as well as new and familiar songs.
