Ever since Bob Chapek was named as Bob Iger’s successor at CEO of the Walt Disney Company, some people had strong opinions whether he was a good choice or not, while others took a wait-and-see attitude.

Last week, Variety, a weekly publication along with its daily website is considered one of the entertainment industry’s leading sources for news, reviews, box office results, cover stories, and more, published a feature story on Bob Chapek.

According to Disney Matter’s vlogger, OrangeGrove55, the article, Disney’s New World Order Leads to Confusion and Bruised Egos, is a hit piece on Chapek.

“The two men’s [Iger and Chapek] once-warm relationship has grown strained, according to four insiders,” wrote Brent Lang and Matt Donnelly. “This comes as Chapek has overseen a 2020 reorganization that centralized the media company’s content distribution and ad sales.”

OrangeGrove55 has a number of issues with the article including quotes like this – “It’s a very different place and a very different organization,” a Disney insider said. “Kareem has huge authority and power.” Who is the Disney insider? Is the insider someone at the Walt Disney Company or a Disney blogger?
