Opinion: Is the Disneyland Resort just too small for new attractions?

Recently, Disneyland announced plans for a possible theme park, retail, and parking expansion on the eastern and western edges past the Disneyland and Paradise Pier resorts. In addition, there are also possible plans to develop the Pixar parking lot into possibly another resort hotel.

The project, DisneylandForward, will be an effort on Disney’s part to work with the City of Anaheim to “propel” the city’s “economic rebound following the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The new builds will would convert mostly parking lots into a 56-acre mixed-use “third gate.”

Currently when Disney fans talk about adding new attractions to Disneyland, many say it cannot be done because there is no room to build anything substantial.

Our vlogger, OrangeGrove55, says that is simply not true. He argues that this is a “defeatist attitude” on the part of Disney nay-sayers. “When Disney wants to build something in Anaheim,” says OrangeGrove55. “The Imagineers have done a really, really great job at finding creative solutions to adding these attractions into the park.”

The opinion expressed are those of the vlogger and do not represent those of Disney Matters. OrangeGrove55 can be found on Twitter and YouTube.
