Mickey and Friends return to Chef Mickey’s at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Hotel

When the Walt Disney World Resort began its phased reopening this past July a number of experiences did not immediately return including dining character meet-and-greets. Now one of those has returned.

According to the Walt Disney World Ambassador Instagram page, Mickey and Friends have returned to Chef Mickey’s Restaurant at Disney’s Contemporary Resort Hotel.

“Why are these Cast Members and I doing our best Mickey pose? Because we’re excited that he and his best pals returned to Chef Mickey’s restaurant,” read the Instagram post. “Guests and Cast alike were so happy to see the gang back together as they paraded around this iconic dining location – in a way that promotes health and safety, of course. Also making a debut were some new menu items that we can’t wait to try.”

Chef Mickey’s reopened to guests on July 10, for breakfast only, with a modified all-you-care-to-enjoy meal service. The new Chef Mickey’s Family Feast service is similar to how dinner is served at the Hoop-Dee-Doo. Instead of serving themselves, servers now bring platters of food – family-style – to the table and guests can request as many platters as they like.

Currently Mickey and his friends are only posing for socially distant photos and each table will receive a special autographed card keepsake from Mickey and his friends. A typical family-style breakfast includes breakfast breads, traditional breakfast entrées such as Mickey waffles, and selections from Chef Mickey’s Signature entrees—including banana bread French toast, loaded potato-cheese casserole and the “Celebration” Mickey pancake.
