When Disneyland Paris began its phased reopening after being closed for months due to the coronavirus pandemic, visitors were able to return to Disneyland Park, Walt Disney Studios Park, Disney Village, and stay at Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne and Disney’s Newport Bay Club hotel. It was their hope to gradually reopen the other resort hotels over the course of the summer including Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel. Originally the Hotel New York, Disney closed the hotel in 2019 for a transformation showcasing the art of Marvel complete with super hero-themed guest rooms. The new hotel was to reopen this summer, but the closure has delayed the reopening.

On 11 August 2020, DLP Report tweeted a number of delayed reopening and a closure of certain Disneyland Paris resort hotels. The Disneyland Hotel, which is the gateway to the Disneyland Park, was scheduled to reopen on 7 September 2020, but according to DLP Report travel agents are now being notified the hotel will “now start welcoming guests December 8, 2020.”

They also reported that Disney’s Sequoia Lodge, which was scheduled to remain closed throughout the summer, is not expected to reopen until 1 May 2021. Along with the Sequoia Lodge, Disney’s Davy Crocket Ranch was also planned to stay closed this summer. It has yet to reopen and Disney has not given a reopening date.

Although Disney’s Hotel Cheyenne reopened with the park, DLP Report is now saying that the hotel will close beginning 1 October 2020 and is not expected to reopen until 1 March 2021.

After the closure of these hotels only Disney’s Newport Bay Club Hotel and Disney’s Hotel Santa Fé will be the only resorts available for guest stays. Villages Nature Paris by Center Parcs, located just outside of the parks and next to Disney’s Davy Crocket Ranch, is also currently accepting guests.

Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel/Disney

Disney’s Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel is a 549-room hotel, located near Disney Village. Initially Disney was giving guests who were holding a pre-opening reservation, now through October, at the newly renovated resort the option to receive a refund or select a voucher for a future vacation.  At the time, it seemed that Disney was expecting the resort to open sometime after October. Now, Disney has pushed the grand reopening date back to 8 March 2021.
