D23 and “Disney twenty-three” celebrate 65 years of the Disney Theme Park

D23 is giving its members something to celebrate with the upcoming fall issue of “Disney twenty-three” and other exclusive offers.

In “Walt’s Map to the Magic,” Becky Cline, Walt Disney Archives Director, and Max Lark, “Disney twenty-three” publication editor will give readers an in-depth look into the inspiration, planning, and creation of Disneyland. D23’s Manager of Content Curation (and former Disneyland Park tour guide) Justin Arthur takes readers on a guided tour of Disneyland on opening day in “Dateline Disneyland: July 17, 1955.” In addition, Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro wrote a special “Editor’s Letter” for readers, highlighting his deep connection with the theme parks, and stories include exclusive interviews with Disney Legends Tony Baxter and Wing T. Chao; Imagineers Tom Fitzgerald and Bhavna Mistry; original Mouseketeer Bobby Burgess; and Walt Disney Imagineering President Bob Weis.

Other feature stories in “Disney twenty-three” include “Picturing the Parks,” a curated look at some of the most beloved attraction posters from Disney’s parks around the world written by Disney Publishing’s Editorial Director Wendy Lefkon.

In “Rooms with a View,” Disney Vacation Club’s Ryan March explores the evolution of Disney’s immersive resorts and vacation experiences from the Disneyland Hotel to a galaxy far, far away.

Disney Park’s Charles Stovall delves into some of Disney’s iconic and most beloved characters created exclusively for Disney Parks including the Orange Bird at Walt Disney World, Figment at EPCOT, and Chandu at Tokyo DisneySea.

“Disney twenty-three” will also including stunning images of Disney Parks by “National Geographic’s” Caitlin Holbrook. This upcoming issue will include, according to press notes, “a roundup of every glorious Disney castle, a look at our remarkable cast members around the world, the Disney spectacular examined, and an advance peek at the new book Holiday Magic in the Disney Parks.”

Included in the fall issue of “Disney twenty-three” will be a special gold member gift of six postcards representing a different Disney resort around the world.

The attractions featured on the six pin set are based on based on the colorful artwork on the fall issue of “Disney twenty-three” by Ricky De Los Angeles. The “Disney Imagineers Celebrate 65 years of Disneyland Park” virtual panel, created by Walt Disney Imagineering to celebrate the 65th anniversary of Disneyland, will be available from 21 August – 23 August 2020 on the D23 Website. Moderated by Leslie Iwerks, director and executive producer of “The Imagineering Story” on Disney+, panelists include Jeanette Lomboy, Kim Irvine, and Scott Trowbridge, along with Disney Legend Tony Baxter.
