EPCOT’s Space 220 Restaurant to open 20 September 2021

Last month, Disney announced the highly anticipated Space 220 Restaurant, located adjacent to the Mission: SPACE attraction, will open sometime this month. Today, Disney Imagineer, Zack Riddley announced on his Instagram page that the restaurant will be ready to receive guests beginning 20 September 2021.

“Get ready for and out-of-this-world experience at EPCOT, Space 220 is opening on September 20th,” stated Riddley. Presumably, the date was chosen to correspond with the name of the restaurant.

The Space 220 restaurant menu will feature a two-course prix fixe menu for lunch and a three-course prix fixe menu for dinner, presumably to avoid having guests just coming up to the restaurant and tying up a table with a beverage and appetizer. Space 220 will also feature unique beverages – from fine wines, cocktails, and more.

The restaurant, part of the Patina Restaurant Group, was originally scheduled to open in the winter of 2019, however, a number of delays including the departure of their previously announced executive chef, Theo Schoenegger, the replacement of one of the large panes of glass that broke during construction, and the shut down of the entire park during the coronavirus pandemic kept pushing the project back.
