Today, Disney announced the long-awaited details of Disneyland’s Magic Key or its new version of the annual pass.

The Disney Parks Blog wrote that this “new, guest-centric offering” will deliver choice, flexibility, and value for park admission, special access to unique experiences, valuable saving opportunities, and more. The four new options of Magic Key passes: Dream Key, Believe Key, Enchant Key, and Imagine Key will provide guests and their families with choices that fit various needs and lifestyle preferences for how they wish to visit the Disneyland Resort.

Magic Key passes will go on sale to the public starting 25 August 2021 at 10:00 a.m. PST / 1:00 p.m. EST.

According to Disney, “This new Magic Key program provides reservation-based admission to one or both Disneyland Resort theme parks where you’ll make memories visit after visit.” The 4 Magic Key types featuring a variety of admission days, pricing options, experiences, and savings on food & beverages and merchandise.

Dream Key – $1399

• Reservation-based admission to one or both theme parks every day of the year.
• Hold up to 6 theme park reservations at a time for different dates*
• Up to 20% off select merchandise**
• Up to 15% off select dining**
• Standard theme park parking included (excluding blockout days)***

Believe Key – $949

• Reservation-based admission to one or both theme parks most days of the year.
• Hold up to 6 theme park reservations at a time*
• 10% off select merchandise**
• 10% off select dining**
• 50% off standard theme park parking (excluding blockout days, and available for purchase at Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, Pixar Pals Parking Structure and the Toy Story Parking Area)***

Enchant Key – $699

• Reservation-based admission to one or both theme parks select days of the year.
• Hold up to 4 theme park reservations at a time*
• 10% off select merchandise**
• 10% off select dining**

Imagine Key – $399

(Only available for Southern California Residents living in zip codes 90000 to 93599)

• Reservation-based admission to one or both theme parks select days of the year.

Magic Key Theme Park Reservation System

Magic Key holders will make advanced reservations to enjoy Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure park on available dates, and be able to hold a certain number of upcoming reservations (depending on the pass type).

Additional Offerings and Benefits

Magic Key holders will have access to an array of special offerings and many features including saving opportunities for merchandise and food & beverage. Throughout the year, they may also be able to enjoy special benefits such as a dedicated dining experience and custom menu items at the Magic Key terrace, special offerings at our festivals just for Magic Key holders, a Magic Key holder celebration month, plus other unique surprises!

In the future, Magic Key guests will have their own portal on the Disneyland app.

Be Among the First

For a limited time, Disney will celebrate the charter members that become Magic Key holders within the first 66 days (coinciding with the 66 anniversary of the Disneyland Resort). These guests will receive a special welcome package that will include unique items such as a premium branded pin, celebratory button, magnet, and more. Plus, Magic Key holders who enter Disneyland park will also be celebrated with access to a limited-time experience at Starcade in Tomorrowland (which begins on 1 September), where they can enjoy charging stations, a special photo opportunity, and other surprises.

Purchasing a Magic Key Pass

Starting 25 August guests purchase their preferred Magic Key pass type will be able to begin immedately using their pass on the first day.

Disney will offer a monthly payment plan exclusively for California residents. Magic Key passes start as low as $399 or $19/month for 12 months**** (for Southern California residents, and after a down payment).

Guests will be able to purchase and manage their Magic Key pass through Disneyland.com and the Disneyland app, where they will be able to access an interactive admission calendar for their pass type to view reservation availability and book their theme park reservations.

Theme park reservations and valid pass for the same park on the same date are required for park entry. Park reservations are limited, subject to availability, public health orders, and applicable pass blockout dates, and are not guaranteed for any specific dates or park. Additionally, park reservations may not be available on select holidays for certain theme parks. Pass types may be limited in quantity, and may not be available for purchase or renewal at any time. Current Magic Key pass prices are subject to change. A Pass excludes separately priced activities and events, and does not guarantee access to any experience, attraction or offering or to park entry. Park Hopping

Disney also states that Magic Key holders who have a park reservation for both theme parks may cross over and switch between parks on the same day beginning at 1:00 p.m. Please check the Park Hours calendar and the Disneyland app for the most up-to-date Park Hopper hours, as they could start earlier at a later date, depending on the day and park. Magic Key holders who have a park reservation for both parks must enter the first park as designated in their park reservation prior to visiting the other park. At this time, a park reservation is not required after visiting the first park; however, reservation requirements are subject to change. Please note that the ability to visit the other park will be subject to that park’s capacity limitations.

They also warn that some Magic Key benefits and features may not be available during periods of limited capacity and are subject to change or cancellation without notice. Certain attractions, restaurants, experiences, services and other offerings may be modified or unavailable, have limited capacity and may be subject to limited availability or even closure. Offerings are not guaranteed.
